8th Grade

WELCOME GMS 8th GRADE  STUDENTS!

Dear Eighth Graders and Families,

Welcome to your final year at Groton Middle School! This is a pivotal moment in your educational journey, a year that will prepare you socially, academically, and emotionally for the rigor and expectations of high school and beyond.

As eighth graders, you will be held to higher standards for both accountability and achievement. This means taking greater ownership of your learning, demonstrating responsibility in your actions, and pushing yourself to meet challenges with determination and resilience. Our goal is to help you harness the skills necessary to navigate the transition from adolescence to young adulthood with confidence and purpose.

Beyond academics, eighth grade is a time to lead by example, contribute to our school community, and take part in the many opportunities GMS offers, whether through clubs, sports, music, art, or other activities. These experiences will help you grow as a well-rounded individual and build the character traits that will serve you well in high school and in life.

Ms. Mucciarone and Ms. Fratus are also here to guide you as you make decisions about your academic pathway and personal goals. Don’t hesitate to reach out for support, they are an important partner in your success.

As you embark on this final year at GMS, remember to set high expectations for yourself, persevere through challenges, and embrace every opportunity to grow. Continue to SOAR by striving for success, overcoming challenges, achieving your goals, and reaching for the stars.

We are excited to see all that you will accomplish this year and the strong foundation you will carry with you into high school.

With kind regards,

Jemal Davis
